A lot of readers have been asking me to post about work outfits to inspire them in their quest to add flare to their boring old work suits. This is my personal sense of work style (I'm in Marketing so I tend to be more trendy yet classy) and hopefully it can inspire you with items you probably already have in your closet.
Office Basics: Pencil Skirts
I adore pencil skirts, they look good on almost every figure and as long as it has the right fit (not too fitted) and length (depending on your height & heels) it can create a truly classic work look. Here's a look at some Celebrities rocking the pencil skirt:
I love the pop of blue (on the right) with this basic black pencil skirt. This is an example of how the right pencil skirt can work on any body type.
Leather may not be accepted in all Organizations as appropriate work attire, however if you work in a cutting edge field, I think this look could work for you. Pairing a soft silk blouse with the leather balances it out and the touch of color in the pendant is perfect.
Why not try head to toe neutrals? This look is paird a simple beige skirt with an interesting blouse and belt to accent the waistline. The pop of the neon yellow handbag is right on trend for summer.
Are you petite? Not a problem, Hayden shows that a pencil skirt can work for every shape.
Brighten up your work outfit with a pop of color with your heels! Jessica Alba spruces up this simple look with red heels and bag to match!
Why not play with color? I love the turquoise skirt with the bright yellow, however I think Kim's skirt is a tad bit too tight for her bootylicious figure and 2 inches to short for her petite frame.
Pencil skirts also come in different designs, check out this black and white checkered look with a simple black shirt, pumps and purse by the ever chic Victoria Beckham.
Scarlett Johanson looks simply radiant in this business chic beige pencil skirt with a colorful silk tie blouse, a great example of how to bring print into the mix.
